Atlanta, GA's Lilitu was formed in 1995 by vocalist/guitarist Derek Bonner, and, after legion false starts and regular a few near-breakups, finally coagulated with the arrival of keyboardist Adina Blasé, guitarist Jason Piona, and drummer Evan Jones, towards the goal of the decennium. Looking not to their possess res publica, only to Europe's highly experimental musical and gothic death metal bands for inspiration, the pentad reinforced a small but consecrated following in local clubs earlier entering the studio with session bassist Jonathan Potter and recording their number one record album, The Earth Gods, in 1999. Although it wasn't even released in America at first base, the platter was picked up for European distribution by Germany's Emerald Factory Records, and garnered such confident reviews that Lilitu found themselves opening for bands like Nevermore and the Kovenant. Blasé and Jones departed the following summertime, only Lilitu nonetheless finished a self-financed soph album entitled Memorial by early 2001, with bassist Chris Todd and drummer Corey Long having stepped into the breach (keyboards would henceforward be handled sessionmen). Even more complete and acclaimed than its predecessor, Memorial introduced Lilitu to a a great deal wider audience, and helped them urinate significant inroads in the U.S., where heavy metallic element was finally making a provisional commercial comeback, anyhow. More touring and sonic refining ensued, and, after sign language with summit indie alloy label The End Records, Lilitu unleashed their third gear musical composition, Delores Lesion, in 2004. A brusque time later, the ring as well welcomed new bassist Shane Bell to the flock.

Court now orders Spears psych exam
A judge has ruled that troubled pop star Britney Spears must be examined by a court-appointed psychiatrist to determine if she understands the legal proceedings involving her.
Reuters reports that Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ordered on Monday that the psychiatrist file a report on the 26-year-old's mental condition by 13 February.
On 14 February it will be decided how much longer Spears' assets should remain under the temporary control of her father and his attorney.
Commissioner Gordon also said that a restraining order against Spears' self-styled manager and confidant, Sam Lutfi, forbids him from any form of contact with her.
Spears was taken to the UCLA Medical Center for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation last week; her stay has now been extended to two weeks.
